Theatre nursing has been my life for over twenty years and I have regularly assisted the surgeon, often taking on the ‘dual role’. However, the realisation that I was not legally covered to undertake this role, along with desiring to improve my knowledge and skills, led me to enrol on the advanced scrub practitioner course run by Edge Hill University. This article is about my journey of personal and professional development.
