Abstract
The bombings in London (7 July 2005) have highlighted the need for operating theatre staff to raise their level of knowledge and preparedness in response to the threat of terrorist attacks. What can we expect and be prepared for when bombings occur? This article uses the recent experience of the operating theatre staff at The Royal London Hospital to provide practical advice on how to prepare and care for patients who have received bomb blast injuries and require life-saving surgical intervention.
