On a recent visit to Hong Kong the author visited an operating theatre in an effort to explore the differences and similarities with the UK. She found that SARS has had a profound influence upon both public behaviour and the healthcare system. The author found the visit interesting and educational and she encourages others to make similar visits as a way of exchanging ideas and maintaining optimal practice.
