Abstract
In the first article in her new series on effective management, Fiona Westwood looked at the effect of conflict within our organisations. Whilst some conflict is good, too much conflict can be damaging, with a great deal of time and energy taken up managing people who are the source of these tensions. This second article looks at ways of becoming more proactive - of dealing with the sources of conflict before they become entrenched or break out into open war.
