How Well Do We Use Our Resources?

Abstract

We have already considered that the resources we have to work with in our organisations are not infinite. The most valuable of these are our people and our time. In addition, some patient work is not ‘cost effective’. As technology and treatment options become more and more sophisticated, our overall fixed and variable costs can increase alarmingly. In this fifth article in the series, Fiona Westwood says we need, therefore, to look at all of our resources to maximise the value that they can bring.
