Abstract
Problems with manual handling create a significant impact on:
patients - through affecting patient safety, comfort and quality of care nurses - through injury and adverse career prospects Trusts - through risk assessment and litigation.
It is essential that manual handling problems be addressed. This article seeks to explore these issues in the perioperative environment.
