Friedel–Crafts reactions using polymer supported AICI3 are reported and the effect of crosslinking level on ortho:para ratio is studied.

100 mg of P-AlCl3 was fused with Na metal, extracted with 10 ml of water and filtered, the filtrate then being diluted to 25 ml.
