How much do 'ordinary' teachers
know of the various proposals
for systems of teacher appraisal? This
research into a sample of high school
staff shows their knowledge of
existing appraisal schemes, including
the national pilots, was limited. It
discusses how teachers viewed the
issues. The authors are, respectively,
from the School of Education,
University of Leeds, and The Oaks
School, Barnsley.
