Biographical Notes Daniel Duke is a professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Foundations, and Policy at the University of Virginia, and research director for the Darden-Curry Partnership for Leaders in Education. He is the author of numerous articles and books, most recently Teachers’ Guide to School Turnarounds (2008, Rowman & Littlefield). Michael Salmonowicz is a doctoral candidate in educational administration at the University of Virginia and recently spent a year teaching at one of Chicago’s first turnaround high schools. He is a contributing writer on trueslant.com and a co-author of the recently published book, Teachers’ Guide to School Turnarounds (2008, Rowman & Littlefield).
