Abstract
This case is for use in graduate courses in higher education and student affairs administration. It presents a multitude of challenges faced by higher education professionals in the event of a natural disaster. While intensive planning prior to the disaster can help mitigate some of the aftereffects, there will still be a number of decisions that must be made to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff. This case highlights the complex issues that administrators must often face as well as provides an opportunity to evaluate the complex issues from a variety of perspectives.
