Abstract
This case addresses the state-mandated end of discrimination and preferential treatment and the subsequent use of university outreach programs to increase the college eligibility of underrepresented students. The principal of an inner city high school asks for help from a state university to increase his students' eligibility to Tier I public universities. The university sets up outreach programsat his school but the administrators, the teachers, parents and students are dissatisfied with them. This case illustrates leadership issues that may arise in connection with university outreach programs as well as pre-existing leadership issues at a school.
