Abstract
“Dr. Moore Has Problems” is a case study written primarily to help students consider both legal and ethical issues. Two teachers from the same campus have husbands running for office against one another. One of the teachers is pushy and corners staff to persuade them to vote for her husband. The staff becomes divided. Later, the same teacher appears with a 10-day doctor’s excuse for absence during the early voting period. During this 10-day period, she transports community members to the county courthouse to vote during school hours. The community and board members are most concerned. Dr. Moore has to decide what action to take.
