Abstract
In this paper, the problem definition study for a cyber security simulation, which has an important impact on the quality of the expected outcome of the simulation process, is exploited. This paper identifies the obstacles and unclear points in determining the objectives, boundary, domain, and the level of detail of a cyber security model, as well as the specific issues that arise. It also introduces a method to increase the level of detail of a model on hand of an example attack-and-defense scenario.
