November 30—Deadline for WFNR Franz Gerstenbrand Award
The deadline for entries is fast approaching for the WFNR Franz Gerstenbrand Award, which must be received by November 30, 2016.
The Award, worth £3000, and named after Professor Franz Gerstenbrand in recognition of his continuous contributions in neurorehabilitation, is open to WFNR members and nonmembers worldwide. It recognizes and rewards a neurorehabilitation project that has benefited patients.
The entry must demonstrate a difference to patient outcome in neurorehabilitation. The work described must be completed and have yielded results, or been published in the past 12 months. Entries can come from any aspect of neurorehabilitation, for example, a patient or clinic management initiative, research project, best practice development, or the use of a new technological development.
The Award encourages all professionals working in the field to enter, including clinicians, researchers, and allied health professionals, who are currently working in neurorehabilitation, with special consideration given to applications from those younger than 30 years.

The WFNR was established in 1996. It is a multidisciplinary organization based in the United Kingdom and open to any professional with an interest in neurological rehabilitation. The organization exists to act as a forum of communication between those with an interest in the subject. The WFNR now has over 4000 members worldwide with National Societies worldwide affiliated to the WFNR. In addition, there are 37 Special Interest Groups formed for topics as diverse as mild brain injury, robotics, and telerehabilitation.
The WFNR objectives are
to advance the development and improve the quality of neurological rehabilitation across the world
to stimulate collaboration between clinicians and others with an interest in neurological rehabilitation
to facilitate exchange of knowledge and scientific research between clinicians and others with an interest in neurological rehabilitation
