Abstract
This article explores the use of a Bowen oriented approach that treats the relationship with God as a “real person” interaction, that may involve God's “available next of kin,” and that applies the idea of therapist “I positions” to spiritual-religious material. A case example is drawn upon to illustrate and ground the theoretical materials.
