Proofreading tasks that can be used to measure certain aspects of verbal processing are difficult to find. In addition, it is difficult to modify existing tasks to allow researchers to apply their own stimuli. PTAP, Proofreading Task Analysis Program, is a PC-based proofreading task and analysis program that provides event summaries and rapid analysis and reporting of performance measures. Results produced by PTAP can be used to draw inferences about verbal information processing.
