Enhancing Patient Safety: A New Movement in Health Care

Abstract

Interest in patient safety has created a window of opportunity to bring to bear research results on the human contribution to safety and to failure. Given the unique aspects of different health care settings, how can we use this knowledge base to recognize opportunities for and obstacles to progress on patient safety?
