Abstract
During the 29th Annual Meeting of the Human Factors Society, more than one author highlighted the need for human factors engineering influence to design early in the developmental cycle of weapons systems for the US Army. The Army's new MANPRINT initiative, designed to ensure proper integration of manpower and personnel concerns into design of equipment, has been adopted as the method to achieve that end. The MANPRINT initiative will allow a soldier to “be all he or she can be” by providing systems designed with the soldier in mind.
