Abstract
Assessing safe limits for isometric exercise has required estimations of the forces involved. Where complex postures are of interest such measures are difficult and an alternative model is advanced. The model, developed from empirical data, predicts recovery from the Maximum Holding Time (MHT) of the posture and the observed Holding Time (HT). Further experimentation has shown the model to be repeatable and applicable to another, very different, complex posture.
