Inserting Human Factors Considerations Earlier in the Weapon Systems Acquisition Process

Abstract

The Navy's HARDMAN program aims to improve consideration of manpower and training issues in the weapon systems acquisition process. Lessons learned in its implementation are valuable in attempting to enhance the role of human factors engineering in the acquisition process.
