Abstract
Equations, or models, which describe trends of experimental data are frequently used by ergonomists and human factors specialists to predict human capabilities. Advance knowledge of what people can do, or how they will respond to a set of conditions, permits efficient job and workplace design and safe matching of individuals with tasks. This paper describes a heuristic technique which can be used to model complex human responses. This relatively new method is more efficient than the traditional stepwise regression analysis and utilizes existing software for model development.
