Abstract
A checklist was designed to evaluate software usability. Then, to determine whether it was possible to collect the required data, the checklist was used to evaluate two different word processors. Finally, users of those two word processors were interviewed to determine whether their views of the strengths and weaknesses of each word processor matched the strengths and weaknesses indicated by the evaluation checklist. It was concluded that the checklist is both useful and usable.
