Abstract
The Boeing Company's Corporate Information Retrieval System (CIRS) began several years ago as an experiment in effective communication between a top-level corporate executive and a computerized, distributed information processing environment. Today, this experiment has evolved into a production system that is continually being enhanced to meet the requirements of its users. It is vital to note, however, that no enhancement is accepted whose implementation is not consistent with the original concept of a friendly and uncomplicated user interface. The interactive session presented at the Human Factors Conference will consist of a live demonstration of the CIRS system, as well as an informal discussion of the CIRS philosophy and implementation.
