A person considering enlisting in the Army faces a number of key choice points as he or she pursues a course of applying to the Army. In this paper, a framework is presented for examination of the enlistment decision process from several theoretical viewpoints. Existing data and missing data are discussed as they relate to satisfying modeling requirements and to meeting Army needs and personnel enlistment goals.
