Abstract
The modeling of complex man-machine systems above the task level historically has been hampered by the difficulty in integrating models of human performance with other models of the system. In particular, modeling the macro-dynamics of a nuclear power plant process and in conjunction with the features of the control room has not been attempted due to the complexity of both elements. If such a model could be developed, then the interactions between performance shaping factors and process parameters could be studied.
