Abstract
There is considerable concern about the uses of computer display terminals in people's work. Some of this concern centers on reported feelings of fatigue - visual and other ways. This laboratory experiment attempts to understand how much, if any, a CRT terminal contributes to these feelings and how much the work itself does. Twenty-four participants proof-read material shown on a CRT display and, on another day, proof-read similar material printed on hardcopy. Their performance, feelings, and vision were measured each hour. Results are still being tabulated.
