Abstract
A two year program, employing test subjects selected from the eventual user population, evaluated the procedural and training material associated with a computer-based information system. One hundred and thirty tests of fully documented positions (i.e., modules of work) were conducted. Performance test error rates, subjects' debriefing comments, and observations by the trainer and test administrator were compiled into a report which highlighted specific aspects of the position where possible design or documentation weaknesses might exist. Test reports were forwarded to the design group within 10 days after each test was completed. Following a design review session, certain recommended revisions were implemented. When the design group supervisor agreed, the revised documentation was scheduled for a retest.
