Ergonomics (or Human Factors) have distinct features in each continent, region, and nation. These special characteristics may be prominent in the professional/educational background, in the areas of research interests, and in terms of applications in industries, standards, and legislation. Other possible peculiarities may concern the involvement with social and political affairs or in the recognition of Ergonomics by the general public, by the military, and industry and government.
