Abstract
The Swedish National Institute for Working Life and the University of Jönköping are cooperating in a project to produce a multimedia (CD-ROM based) program to be used by children. The target group concists of children in between 6 and 12 years of age and the main objective with the program is to make children aware of the physical ergonomic aspects in the use of computer workstations in the school environment. Nomos Management AB was asked to conduct an usability evaluation test of the program to ensure ease of use. The test pointed out a number of usability problems in the program. The majority of the problems could be separated under two headlines - “user interface design” and “lack of understanding the user”.
