Abstract
The general aim of ergonomic design is to achieve best compatibility between the human being and the object. An analysis of elementary actions of the human being may guide the designer to consider the possible relations between the user and the object. This means that the action is regarded and reflected with its elements; e.g. for a control these are: initiating the action, finding the control, moving to the control, grasping the control, actuating the control, checking the action, transitioning to the next action. This procedure is to be presented by an example: Operating of a control for setting the direction indicator lights in a streetcar.
