Abstract
Based on the design recommendations concerning error tolerance in ISO 9241-10 a check list for compliance testing of existing software products was developed. Problems of compliance testing seem to be of special importance, since ISO 9241-10 itself states nothing about conformity testing and therefore different models of evaluating individual criteria as well as for combining different criteria are conceivable, which might lead to different results concerning compliance with the specifications of this standard. Thus a study was conducted to see how far different decision models of criterion compliance and for the combination of criteria lead to different results concerning conformity with the provisions of this standard.
