Abstract
The use of 3D graphic mannequins in design processes has increased significantly in the last years. However, besides the beautiful images they provide, it is necessary to develop criteria that allow to estimate the degree of discomfort felt by an operator when he executes a task, in order to perform an ergonomic analysis of a virtual work situation. One of the methods used to reach this objective is the comparison of the discomfort level felt by real subjects during the performance of a given task, with biomechanical indices calculated through an analysis of the posture and movements involved in that task.
