Abstract
Presently and traditionally medical rehabilitation is mostly medically oriented, i.e. treating the client for his/her physical deficits based on a medical diagnosis. The current occupation of the rehab candidate is considered to be important when a social-medical appraisal is prepared to the candidate's future ability to work. Occupation related advice and treatment is missing most of the time. The goal of the presented concept is to improve both the immediate and long-range outcome of rehabilitation by teaching the principles of working techniques and the effects of work equipment and materials.
