Abstract
It has been recognised by ergonomists for some time that there are a number of risk reduction measures and controls that can be used to control the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (Buckle, P, 1988; Putz-Anderson, V, 1988. Their introduction into a casual apparel manufacturing environment where production is driven by incentive working presents particular challenges. The identification and promulgation of good practices is a key aspect being used in driving an ergonomics strategy in Levi Strauss Europe, Middle East and Africa (LSEMA) with the aim of reducing and controlling musculoskeletal risk.
