Abstract
This two-and-one-half-hour colloquium is designed to provide an open exchange of ideas regarding future directions for the application of human factors to the reduction of human error in medicine with specific emphasis on the design and use of medical equipment and supplies. The goals are to frame topics for building a research agenda and examine strategies for its pursuit. Three panels will provide brief presentations to stimulate discussion from participants and attendees.
