Abstract
A highly customized lift training program, the Ergonomic Warehouse & Distribution Center Program, based on ergonomic principles and carried out at a large distribution center of a major retail organization as part of a broader safety program, yielded significant reductions in the center's accident frequency rate, especially with respect to musculoskeletal disorders. The program's positive results are attributed to its highly customized structure in both its content and in the participation of workers, supervisors, and safety department personnel.
