Abstract
This contribution is part of a broader research conducted at the CENA (French Research Center for Civil Aviation) to provide a better understanding of air traffic control cognitive activity while evaluating a new decision support system for air traffic controllers called Erato. Our objective is to show that the ability to handle the traffic implies for controllers to update their mental model of the situation in order to synchronize their action to the dynamic environment.
