Abstract
Thirty adults in a psychiatric day hospital were subjects in a study examining the validity of using the Southern California Sensory Integration Tests (SCSIT) to measure neurological functioning in an adult psychiatric population The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, the SCSIT, and the Luria-Nebraska Neuropsychological Battery were administered to all subjects. Statistical analysis of the data reveals that selected tests from the SCSIT are valid measures of neurological functioning in the adult psychiatric population and suggests that further research on the usefulness of the SCSIT for assessing adult performance is warranted.
