Abstract
In the preceding guest editorial, Llorens has presented a philosophical and historical review of the several internal persuasions which culminated in our newest professional publication.
This further introduction to The Occupational Therapy Journal of Research (OTJR) will address generic as well as profession-particular aspects of three stages in its evolution. That evolution will be viewed both retrospectively with reference to antecedents and prospectively in the form of plans for further development. The context for both past and future views conceives research along a continuum from generation, through dissemination, to utilization.
