A four-year prospective study of distal revascularization in diabetics with trophic damage of the limbs is presented. Thirty-two infrapopliteal bypasses in 32 limbs of 31 diabetic patients were performed. One-year and three-year graft patency rates were 68% and 59% respectively. Limb salvage was obtained in every case of surgical success.
