Closed-tube thoracostomy is usually the only surgical procedure needed in 85% to 90% of thoracic trauma patients. Every primary care physician should be familiar with the techniques of chest tube insertion. In performing closed- tube thoracostomy, many techniques have been used. A new safe, quick, and easy method of performing closed-tube thoracostomy using a disposable surgi cal trocar and sleeve is presented.
