Pseudoaneurysms of the internal carotid artery are usually due to civilian trauma, but on rare occasions they may be a result of iatrogenic injury during a cervical procedure (diagnostic or therapeutic). Recent reports have, however, demonstrated an increasing incidence of iatrogenic pseudoaneurysms, and pseudoaneurysms of the internal carotid artery may, therefore, be seen more often in the future. The authors present a patient who developed a pseu doaneurysm following a left cervical lymph node biopsy, her subsequent "workup" as an outpatient, and then the definitive workup with an arterio gram. Operative treatment of the pseudoaneurysm is also discussed.
