Brachial Artery Transsection after Closed Elbow Dislocation A Case Report and Review of the Literature

Abstract

The 15th case in the English speaking literature of brachial artery transsec tion after closed elbow dislocation is presented. A review of the literature with particular attention to vascular repair techniques is correlated with sequelae of this injury. Data from Armed Forces statistics of major actions support the contention that arterial repair utilizing end-to-end anastomosis or vein grafting does diminish vascular related sequelae.
