Angioplasty of Acute Occlusion of the Popliteal Artery After Unsuccessful Surgical Repair: A Case Report

Abstract

In the following case, percutaneous transluminal angioplasty was used to treat acute occlusion of the popliteal artery in a 28-year-old accident victim who had undergone previous unsuccessful repair. Although transluminal angioplasty has proved valuable in treating peripheral vascular lesions, we are not aware of any other case in which this technique has been used to treat postoperative vascular occlusion.
