Abstract
The axillo-profunda bypass provides a good solution to distal revasculari zation when it is necessary to remove an infected aorto-femoral graft in a patient with occluded superficial femoral arteries. This modification of the standard axillo-femoral procedure provides revascularization through a clean field while avoiding the additional length of an axillo-popliteal graft. Two important technical considerations are the lateral placement of the tunnel so as to avoid contamination from the infected inguinal site and the selection of a small diameter graft.
