The association of giant hemangioma with an increased tendency to bleed was first recognized in 1940 by Kasabach and Merritt.1
Since then 132 additional cases have been published. Most of them show a combination of benign hemangioma, thrombocytopenia, and hemorrhagic diathesis.
The purpose of this paper is to present a patient with a truly giant heman gioma, associated with a bleeding tendency. A review of the relevant literature is given.
