Eighteen ultra low penetration air filters were installed in exhaust air systems in a
microbiological high containment facility. Their performance was measured annually for
integrity and efficiency. After seven years, their reliability was comparable with that of
high efficiency particulate air filters in similar systems and are considered a suitable
alternative to the latter.
