Abstract

The following article has been retracted at the request of the Journal Editor and Sage:

A reader contact the journal with concerns that had been raised in a discussion on PubPeer.
Concerns were raised about the following figures in the article:
(A) Figure 2D, CNE1/cis, the gel slice labelled β-actin appears highly similar to Figure 2D, RESV (50 μM), gel slice GAPDH.1
(B) Figure 3E, the gel slice labelled C-Myc appears highly similar to Figure 7, gel slice C-myc.2
(C) Figure 4C, the gel slice labelled Nulcear[sic] β-catenin appears highly similar to the gel slice labelled cyclin D within the same figure, and (D) Figure 7, gel slice C-myc.2
(D) Figure 4C, the gel slice labelled Survivin appears highly similar to Figure 7, gel slice β-catenin.2
(E) Figure 6B, the gel slice labelled OCT-4 appears highly similar to Figure 3B, gel slice p-GSK-3β.3
(F) Figure 6B, the gel slice labelled SOX2 appears highly similar to Figure 3B, gel slice TCF1/TCF7.3
Sage contacted the authors with a request for comments and raw data but did not receive a response. Sage also contacted the authors’ institution with a request for raw data but did not receive a response.
Due to the lack of raw images that call into question the validity of the findings the Journal Editor and Sage retract the article.
The authors did not respond to the decision to retract within the designated timeframe.
