Abstract
For purposes of analysis, it might be suggested that the principal areas of legal concern to the Alzheimer's patient and family fall into four categories: 1) the care and management of the patient's assets during his lifetime; 2) the care and management of the patient himself; 3) the preservation and conservation of the patient's assets during this time for the benefit of the patient's dependents-the intervivos estate plan;'and 4) the passage of the patient's assets upon death-the postmortem estate plan. This article outlines some of the more important considerations of these areas.
