Scope: The aim of the American Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias (AJADOD) is to publish clinically useful, up-to-date research on dementia for healthcare professionals. The scope of the journal also includes reviews and studies of clinically important topics relating to dementia care and management. All manuscripts must be previously unpublished. Submitted work may focus on patient care, management or research. We encourage adherence to the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals at www.icmje.com.
Manuscript Format: All manuscripts, figures and tables must be original work, submitted electronically in standard word processing format. Microsoft Word is the preferred format. Other word processing formats can be converted, but the process may introduce errors. Manuscripts and all related correspondence should be sent to AJADOD@verizon.net. Manuscripts will be reviewed routinely unless it is stated that a rapid publication track is requested.

Note in the text the approximate location where tables and figures should be inserted. Also refer to the tables directly in the text. Figure and table legends should be provided at the end of the manuscript. The figure legends should be double spaced, similar to that of the text. These should be original work. The files should be titled as figure1, figure2, etc. Composite figures should be submitted together. For review, acceptable formats for tables and figures include JPG and GIF files. If the manuscript is accepted for publication, high resolution TIF or EPS files will be required to be submitted by the author.
Manuscript Review: AJADOD is a peer-reviewed journal and submitted work usually reviewed by at least two members of our editorial board. The editorial process takes several weeks. If a rapid publication track is desired, it should be stated in the cover letter. Only about half of our manuscripts are accepted. The decision of the editor regarding acceptance or rejection is final.
Our editorial staff reserves the right to make editorial revisions which will be reviewed by the authors in the page proofs prior to publication.
